Alexandria Soccer Association (ASA) announced its new partnership with the Jen Walker Team, a local real estate firm focused on community development in Alexandria and beyond. As part of the partnership, the Jen Walker team will help support ASA’s new Academy Financial Aid fund and also sponsor the newly designed Academy practice jerseys (stay tuned for the design release soon!).
“We believe in the power of sport to open doors and teach lessons beyond the soccer field,” ASA Executive Director Tommy Park said. “That’s why we’re committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to play soccer regardless of their financial situation. We are excited to have found a like-minded partner in the Jen Walker Team to help us continue to find a way to say ‘YES’ to every child.”
Last year, ASA provided $715,000 in scholarship support for core programming, and the new Academy Financial Aid fund will help support those players in ASA’s Academy program. Many of these kids use soccer as a springboard to achieve goals such as attending college, playing professionally and securing jobs.
Scholarship support is one pillar of ASA’s Access4All program, which also includes free after school programs for Title 1 Alexandria schools and the ‘Safe Places to Play’ initiative.
“We are committed to building a community here in Alexandria that uplifts every family, no matter their circumstances,” said Jen Walker. “Sports is one avenue that has the power to do that – especially for children. We are happy to partner with ASA to help open doors and make sure every child in Alexandria has access to move, learn and grow.”
ASA and Jen Walker Team will officially kick off their partnership during Spring2Action on April 9th – Alexandria’s 24-hour, online “Giving Day.” Academy teams will begin wearing the new Jen Walker training jerseys in Fall 2025.
